Times are shown in the zone of the location you are standing in, so a target on the other side of the world still reads correctly.
No compass needed
SunQuest never reads your device's magnetometer. A phone compass is easily thrown off by metal, magnets and electronics; the sun is not. Because the app calculates the sun's position from your coordinates and the clock, the answer is the same whether you are indoors, in a car, or standing next to a fridge.
It also means nothing has to be running in the background. The calculation happens when you ask for it, and the reminders are scheduled ahead of time.
